Critiques

Wonderful work. There's a real coldness about this image, and a wonderful sense of freshness too. Very well done on blending the stock images together - I can't tell how many images you used, or which bits are from what stock - which makes it a very well-done piece.

Having said that, there is one area which I can pick up on, since this is a critique - it's only a small niggle, which just goes to show how well-done this piece is - and that's at the very left corner, where the mountain meets the sky. It's only visible in the full image, but it's not quite blending with the sky - there's a line of white above the mountain that jars with the dark cloud of the sky.

Other than that, it's perfect!

Overall this is a very nice piece of work but there are a couple things with it that hold it back and these are primarily in the realm of things that look out of place.

The first thing that I noticed about the piece was that it look like a very nice photograph, but something looked "off" it wasn't until a couple of seconds latter that I realized that the white bushes to the mid-right side of the piece were what was causing that reaction. I think that the main issue for that is because of the fact that I can't recall ever seeing bushes around where I live here in New England that were snow coated and not have also seen most of the landscape covered with snow coated trees. Thus, I think that one of the things that looks off is the lack of snow also being on the trees in the background.

The second thing that appears off is the lighted, but it is much more subtle. This is primary due to the blue-ish snow back on the left side of the piece which leads me to believe that it is in the shade, but there are shadows near the fence in the piece that are going towards the left of the piece. This is not to say that all blueish snow is going to be in the shade, but I have noticed it that way more often than not.

Overall though, this is a very good piece and these two issues can be fairly subtle, keep up the good work!
